Join Our Client’s Team as a Mechanical/Electrical Engineer – Manufacturing & Maintenance

Position: Mechanical/Electrical Engineer
Location: Scunthorpe, UK
Salary: £39,000 – £42,000
Shift: Rotating shift pattern (mornings and afternoons)
Contract: Permanent
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role

Our client is seeking experienced and motivated Mechanical/Electrical Engineers to join their expanding engineering and maintenance team at their site in Scunthorpe. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking operation where your skills and input will directly contribute to the continued success and smooth running of the site.

The role requires flexibility to work on a rotating shift pattern and offers a competitive salary alongside long-term development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance

  • Respond quickly and professionally to breakdowns to minimise downtime

  • Fault-find, troubleshoot, and repair a range of equipment and systems

  • Work across engineering disciplines to support production operations

  • Perform root cause analyses and recommend corrective actions

  • Identify and implement improvements across safety, process, and equipment

  • Accurately record maintenance activities using CMMS (e.g., Shire System)

  • Maintain full compliance with Health & Safety and site policies

Key Requirements
  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (required).

  • 18th Edition certification with valid IEE regulations (desirable)

  • Previous experience in a similar role within an industrial or manufacturing environment

  • Strong understanding of PLC systems and fault diagnosis

  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal

  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple technical challenges

  • A proactive and solution-focused mindset with a continuous improvement drive
