We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing high-quality care to the complex residents in our care home. This role requires effective communication and IT skills, as well as the ability to supervise and mentor junior staff.

Duties

  • Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support.
  • Develop and implement individual care plans tailored to each resident's needs and preferences.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to junior staff members, ensuring adherence to care standards and protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of residents' progress and changes in their health status using IT systems.
  • Foster a warm, friendly environment that promotes social interaction among residents.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals regarding care needs and updates.
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge related to senior care.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a care home setting is essential, with a focus on senior care.
  • Supervising experience is highly desirable, showcasing leadership abilities in managing teams.
  • A valid driving licence is preferred for transportation of residents when necessary.
  • Strong communication skills are required to interact positively with residents, families, and colleagues.
  • Familiarity with creating and implementing care plans is an advantage.
