We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing high-quality care to the complex residents in our care home. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a commitment to enhancing the lives of seniors through personalised care plans and support. This role requires effective communication and IT skills, as well as the ability to supervise and mentor junior staff.
Duties
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support.
- Develop and implement individual care plans tailored to each resident's needs and preferences.
- Supervise and provide guidance to junior staff members, ensuring adherence to care standards and protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of residents' progress and changes in their health status using IT systems.
- Foster a warm, friendly environment that promotes social interaction among residents.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals regarding care needs and updates.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge related to senior care.
Experience
- Previous experience in a care home setting is essential, with a focus on senior care.
- Supervising experience is highly desirable, showcasing leadership abilities in managing teams.
- A valid driving licence is preferred for transportation of residents when necessary.
- Strong communication skills are required to interact positively with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Familiarity with creating and implementing care plans is an advantage.
