Hours: 37 per week (Tuesday–Friday, 6:30am–4:15pm)
Pay Rate: £14.13 per hour


North Lincolnshire Council is seeking Waste Operatives (Drivers) to join the Waste Services team. This is a frontline role serving the community by undertaking duties connected with the removal and disposal of household and commercial waste and recycling.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Predominantly driving large refuse collection vehicles (HGV Class C licence required)
  • Operating bin lifting equipment and safely manoeuvring refuse containers
  • Supervising a small team of loaders
  • Providing advice to customers on waste and recycling
  • Updating in-cab technology and maintaining accurate records

Requirements:

  • HGV Class 2 licence with Driver CPC training
  • Digital tachograph holder
  • Experience in waste collection or similar environment
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Dress Code: Safety shoes, high viz jacket, ballistic trousers
