Location:
Scunthorpe and surrounding areas - own vehicle is essential

Contract Type:

£12.21 per hour (mileage covered depending on location)

Hours:
8:00am – 4:00pm (Monday to Friday)


Overall Purpose of the Job

To provide a high-quality cleaning and clearance service within empty properties. This includes ensuring internal and external areas (including gardens) are cleaned and cleared to a high standard, ready for new tenants and in line with relevant policies and procedures.


Main Responsibilities
  • Ensure the cleanliness, security, and safety of empty properties to an agreed standard:

    • Clean and disinfect internal areas, including toilets, kitchens, and bathrooms

    • Clean windows, doors

    • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors, stairs, and landings

    • Remove ingrained dirt from all surfaces, including deep cleaning if required

  • Take immediate action to remove hazards and report them to Empty Homes Coordinators
  • Comply with COSHH and risk assessments before using chemicals or starting an activity
    • Use the correct cleaning products and maintain accurate records

  • Keep all internal and external communal areas free from rubbish
  • Liaise directly with the Empty Homes team to ensure key management is effective and does not delay void turnaround times
  • Support Officers, Housing Officers, and other teams to ensure properties remain secure when empty
  • Maintain adequate stock levels of cleaning materials
  • Act as a professional and customer-focused representative of Ongo Homes, adhering to all relevant policies and procedures
  • Liaise with planners and area managers if repairs exceed expected time or need assistance from other trades
