Astute's Renewables team is partnering with an innovative organisation that delivers complex energy and engineering solutions across major infrastructure projects, utility networks, and critical customer systems. They are looking to recruit an experienced Electrical Design Team Leader to lead a high-performing team responsible for designing and delivering large-scale electrical infrastructure and customer network projects.

Responsibilities and duties of the Electrical Design Team Leader role

Reporting to the Hiring Manager you will:

  • Lead a team of electrical design engineers and technical specialists delivering network and infrastructure designs (LV-132kV)
  • Oversee project delivery across design phases, ensuring timelines, budgets, and risks are effectively managed
  • Guide clients through the design process, ensuring compliance with industry standards and facilitating approvals
  • Support wider business development activities, including technical input for tenders and construction coordination
  • Drive continuous improvement, manage stakeholder relationships, and contribute to team training and audit readiness






Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Level 4 qualification (e.g. HNC) in Electrical Engineering or similar; degree preferred
  • Strong knowledge of electrical design from LV to 132kV
  • Experience leading technical teams (min. 4 people)
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Confident with Microsoft Office and stakeholder management
  • Hands-on experience in electrical network design, covering a range of voltage levels from low voltage up to 132kV
