The RoleAs an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with a range of additional needs, helping them to access the curriculum and thrive in a mainstream secondary setting. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN
- Assisting the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
- Promoting inclusion and encouraging independence
- Supporting pupils with emotional, behavioural, and social needs
- Liaising with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN (in education, care, or youth settings)
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient nature
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, or equivalent) – desirable but not essential
