Reed Education is delighted to be working with a well-regarded secondary school in Scunthorpe to appoint an SEN Teaching Assistant for the new academic year commencing September 2025.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with a range of additional needs, helping them to access the curriculum and thrive in a mainstream secondary setting. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN
  • Assisting the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
  • Promoting inclusion and encouraging independence
  • Supporting pupils with emotional, behavioural, and social needs
  • Liaising with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (in education, care, or youth settings)
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient nature
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, or equivalent) – desirable but not essential
