Vision for Education are looking to appoint a SEND Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist setting teaching children with a range of complex needs, We are seeking a committed and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support primary school students in Scunthorpe who require additional help. In this role, you will work closely with children who have special educational needs, ensuring they receive the vital support needed to succeed in the classroom. The school are looking for an ambitious SEND Teaching Assistant who have a passion for teaching and understanding children with Special Educational Needs and can offer the very best learning to their pupils and ensure they achieve the excellent outcomes they deserve, helping them to achieve their aspirations. Previous experience of working in a special needs setting or knowledge and understanding of special needs education is essential as the school are specifically looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant who can work with pupils who have communication and interaction difficulties and other associated complex needs.

This SEND specialist setting based in Scunthorpe are a large inclusive school supporting students and pupils between the ages of 2 to 19 with wide ranging special educational needs including physical and medical needs, Autistic Spectrum Disorders and social communication difficulties and severe and profound learning difficulties.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of SEND Teaching Assistant you will:

  • Previous experience of working in a special needs setting or knowledge and understanding
  • Have an understanding of KS1 to Ks5
  • Creating a supportive inclusive classroom setting where all students are given opportunities to thrive
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Have a naturally calm, caring and nurturing nature
