As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll take the commercial lead on our Responsive Maintenance operations, covering reactive repairs & voids across the North East. You'll manage all aspects of cost control, forecasting, and reporting, while also supporting and developing a small team of Quantity Surveyors.

Our client is looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Seaham, supporting the delivery of a new multi million pound Social Housing R&M contract. If you have a strong background in responsive repairs and commercial management, this is your opportunity to play a key role in shaping the success of a major regional contract.

Description

  • Oversee commercial management for responsive repairs and voids works
  • Prepare and manage cost plans, valuations, and final accounts
  • Lead procurement and subcontractor management processes
  • Provide monthly cost value reports and financial forecasting
  • Administer payments, variations, and change orders
  • Mentor and guide junior QS team members
  • Engage with clients, consultants, and site teams to ensure smooth project delivery

Profile

  • Proven background in responsive repairs within Social Housing
  • Experience managing or mentoring junior QS team members (desirable)
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Capable of planning and prioritising a busy workload
  • A team player with a proactive and enthusiastic attitude
  • Highly organised and detail-oriented
  • Able to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines
  • Confident when dealing with clients and stakeholders
