Key Account Handler
Location: County Durham (Full-Time, Onsite)
Hours: Monday to Friday, Full Time
We’re working with a growing, customer-focused business in County Durham looking to add a Key Account Handler to their internal sales team. This role suits someone who enjoys building relationships, solving customer problems, and delivering a market-leading level of service.
You’ll act as a trusted advisor to your customers, managing enquiries, processing orders, following up on quotes, and identifying opportunities to grow and develop each account.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle incoming sales calls with professionalism, enthusiasm, and genuine interest in each customer’s business
- Prepare accurate quotations and follow up to maximise conversion rates
- Process customer orders efficiently through internal systems
- Resolve customer queries quickly to maintain excellent satisfaction levels
- Review account activity to identify trends and opportunities for cross-selling or upselling
- Re-engage non-spending accounts to drive additional revenue
- Maintain accurate records within CRM and ERP systems
- Support marketing campaigns and participate in promotional sales initiatives
- Collaborate with the wider sales team to share insights and deliver team goals
About You:
- Experience in internal sales, account handling, or customer service within a commercial or environment
- Excellent communication and listening skills — confident on the phone and able to build rapport easily
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritise effectively
- A proactive approach, willing to go the extra mile for customers and the team
- Competent with Microsoft Office and CRM/ERP systems
