Corporate Tax Manager

This is an opportunity to join an ambitious accounting firm where they combine financial expertise, experience, and accessibility to help SMEs and their owners achieve their goals. As a Corporate Tax Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing their tax team and delivering exceptional tax services to a diverse portfolio of clients, predominantly within the tech start-up/scale-up sector.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Run tax advisory assignments and support Directors on more complex assignments.
  • Complete and oversee complicated client tax returns.
  • Manage and service clients within your own portfolio.
  • Provide technical advice to both the Wilson Partners team and clients.
  • Take responsibility for departmental initiatives, processes, and projects while overseeing the supervision, training, and development of the team.
  • Liaise and communicate with other departments, clients, and directors to generate business leads.
  • Actively support the Tax Associate/Director(s) and work with non-Tax Managers and Directors.
  • Maintain the highest level of technical competence and apply it in response to client needs.
  • Support the Tax Director(s) with marketing initiatives and provide content.
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities through networking, attending client functions, and seminars.
  • Involve in the tax team financials with senior members of the tax team; chargeable time, recoveries, and billings.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified ATT and/or CTA with a minimum of 8 years relevant tax experience, or no ATT Qualification with a minimum of 10 years relevant tax experience.
  • On-the-job experience in corporate tax advisory matters including restructuring, tax due diligence, and corporate tax compliance.
  • Experience with EIS, EMI options, R&D Tax credits is preferable but not essential.
  • Outstanding people management and coaching skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to maintain professional standards and practice.
  • Ability to undertake CPD in accordance with Institute/Wilson Partners requirements and maintain up-to-date CPD record.
