We have an excellent opportunity for individuals to join an already well established team based at the Port of Sheerness, Briggs are currently looking for Mooring Assistants for ad-hoc zero hour contracts. 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work as part of a team to moor ships at various locations in and around the Port of Sheerness.
  • Operate a hand-held VHF for communicating with colleagues and vessels.
  • Crew Pilot launch and workboats as required
  • Communicate effectively with Team Leaders and colleagues to provide an effective service.
  • Drive a company vehicle for the purpose of transporting yourself and other colleagues to a work site.
  • Adhere to all company procedures and policies.
  • Carry out any other task deemed appropriate by management

HEALTH & SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT

  • Ensure that all work is conducted in full compliance with Company Health, Safety & Environmental Policies, associated site safety regulations and good industry practice.
  • Be pro-active with the Company Safety Management System and demonstrate safe working practices during all working activities.
  • Contribute to all safety initiatives as required.
  • Take responsibility for personal safety and that of co-workers.
  • Undertake training as required to comply with Company regulations and legislative requirements.
