Job description

OverviewWe are seeking a talented Chef to join our team in Sheffield S10 "The Grazing Table" due is to reopen shortly following a period of refurbishment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and kitchen management with a flair for creativity and a commitment to excellence in hospitality with a dedication to food safety and quality. As a Chef, you will play a crucial role in supervising kitchen operations and ensuring the highest standards of food production and presentation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in accordance with the cafe's menu and standards.
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient food production and timely service.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with management on menu development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and culinary trends.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed to ensure smooth operations.
  • Implement cost control measures to optimise food production while minimising waste.
  • Engage with guests to understand their preferences and provide exceptional dining experiences.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
  • Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen equipment operation.
  • A passion for cooking.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with staff and guests.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Expected working times 7.30am - 3.30/4pm
  • Full and Part Time available
