Elevation Recruitment are proud to be partnered with a leader in Aerospace Manufacturing business based in Sheffield. We are seeking a skilled CNC Grinder to join their production team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and calibrating Cylindrical Grinders to produce high-quality, accurately dimensioned parts. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of grinding operations and machine maintenance.
Job Title: Centreless Grinder
Location: Sheffield
Salary: Up to £16.47 p/h DOE Hours: Monday to Friday 07.30am – 04.00pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and calibrate CNC Grinders to meet job specifications.
- Adjust regulating wheel, grinding wheel, and other components for optimal performance.
- Load and unload parts securely into the machine.
- Select and mount appropriate grinding wheels based on material and finish requirements.
- Maximize production time by ensuring efficient and effective machine use.
- Interpret technical drawings and apply correct machine settings.
- Verify component dimensions using digital or laser micrometers.
- Monitor and adjust machine controls to maintain quality and adherence to specifications.
- Identify and report deviations to relevant personnel.
- Record and manage scrap or non-conforming components.
- Perform preventative machine maintenance and report defects
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to safety and housekeeping standards.
- Provide support in measuring cylindrical and form-ground products.
- Offer training and guidance to team members as needed.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a CNC Grinder or in a similar machining role.
- Familiarity with Cincinnati Milacron grinders is highly preferred.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and job cards.
- Competency in using digital and laser micrometers.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of quality control processes and procedures.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
