Job Description:
Adept Resourcing is recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering firm in Sheffield for experienced CNC Lathe Turners and CNC Vertical Borers to join their night shift team.
You will be responsible for setting, operating, and programming Heidenhain-controlled machines directly at the machine interface. The role involves machining high-value fabrications, castings, and forgings to precise specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Programming and operating CNC lathes or vertical borers (Heidenhain controls)
Machining large, complex components to tight tolerances
Working from engineering drawings
Ensuring quality and dimensional accuracy
Collaborating with the shop floor team to maintain work flow and standards
Working safely and efficiently in a heavy engineering environment
Requirements:
Proven experience as a CNC Turner or Vertical Borer
Confident programming Heidenhain controls at the machine
Strong knowledge of machining forgings, castings, and fabrications
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
