Two weeks days, two weeks nights (rotation)
Day rate: 18.00ph-19.50ph
Night rate: 20.50ph-22.20ph

Metalis are currently working with a reputable company based in Sheffield that are looking for a Skilled CNC Lathe Turner to join the team on a Permanent basis!

They're currently looking for Manual Centre Lathe & CNC Lathe turners, ideally time served but not essential, to machine centrifugally cast spun tube, rolled bar, forgings & offset carriers to supply the Aerospace, Oil & Gas, Power & Petro Chemical industries.

What's the Job?

• Setting & Operating CNC Lathe.
• Fanuc Series OI-TD controlled lathes.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and translate these.
• Data collection i.e., recording of measurements before and after machining.
• Visual inspection on machined components.
• Work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
• Operate on your own initiative, but also able to contribute to a team environment.

What Kind of Person Fits This Job?

• Experience using long bed lathes, machining standard bored /profiled tubes and offsets, using either CNC with Fanuc Series OI-TD or manual controls, turning component lengths up to 10metres long in a wide range of stainless/ super and carbon alloys.
• Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in turning working in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience using overhead cranes.
• Familiarity with modern management techniques such as TPM and 5s.
• MUST be able to work to tolerance and accurately using Micrometres/Callipers/Bore Comparators, wall and surf gauges.
• MUST have high attention to detail.

The Basics:

• Days =06.00am - 4.15pm Mon-Thurs
• Nights = 07.45pm - 6am Mon - Thurs
• Two weeks days, two weeks nights (rotation)
• Day rate: 18.01ph-19.49ph
• Night rate: 20.51ph-22.20ph
