Your new roleHays Procurement are excited to be working with a Public Sector organisation who are recruiting on a permanent basis for a Contracts Officer based in Sheffield. As Contracts Officer, you will be working collaboratively with stakeholders, budget holders, contract managers and purchasers. You will provide specialised knowledge and guidance to ensure all contracts are procured, developed and executed to mitigate risk and drive value for money principles.The Contracts Officer will also support colleagues with and lead on contract assurance activities to ensure contractual performance metrics are met, and to ensure the appropriate action is being taken to manage under performance/issues. What you'll need to succeedThe successful candidate will ideally have a background and an understanding of Public Sector Procurement and regulations. It is essential you have previous experience of developing and negotiating contracts and procurements.You will also have the ability to provide challenges and review to colleagues at all levels, as well as the ability to produce and present information as understandable reports and advice for different audiences.You will have strong communication and teamwork skills and be able to work to tight deadlines. You will have experience and the ability to build strong relationships, both internally (Stakeholders) and externally (Suppliers).What you'll get in returnA starting salary of £32,932 per annum is on offer, with this rising after a successful 6-month probationary period.
