Overview
We’re working with a well-respected and fast-growing construction and interiors business with an increasing volume of electrical packages across commercial fit-outs and refurbishment projects. They’re now looking to bring in a capable Electrical Estimator who can own the electrical pricing function and help shape the future of how they deliver projects — from core power distribution to CCTV, fire alarms, and access control systems.
If you're looking for autonomy, interesting projects, and a business that trusts your judgement, this is one not to miss.
What You'll Be Doing
- Taking the lead on estimating all electrical elements of fit-out and refurb projects (values typically up to £1M)
- Reviewing technical specs, drawings, and designs to scope requirements accurately
- Preparing competitive cost estimates for labour, materials, plant, and subcontractor input
- Working closely with project managers, engineers, and commercial leads to ensure aligned, accurate tenders
- Supporting procurement and supplier engagement to negotiate strong rates
- Advising on risk, compliance, and value engineering opportunities to support margin protection
Who We're Looking For
- Previous experience estimating electrical works within construction or fit-out settings
- Sound understanding of electrical systems including power, lighting, fire alarm, access control, CCTV, and data
- ONC/HNC in Electrical or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent practical experience)
- Commercially aware with a strong grasp of cost breakdowns and estimating principles
- Confident interpreting complex specifications, schematics, and electrical drawings
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and multiple estimates at once
- Based in Sheffield or surrounding areas — this is an office-based role with strong team collaboration
What You’ll Get in Return
- Competitive salary based on experience
- Supportive leadership team that values technical input
- A voice in the direction of future electrical delivery
- Career progression as the electrical division continues to grow
- Structured work schedule – Monday to Friday, no weekends
- Company events, health and wellbeing initiatives, and on-site parking
This is an ideal role for someone who’s ready to take ownership and make a measurable impact inside a growing, design-led business.
