Purpose of Role

  • To provide high quality training and assessments in line with DVSA test standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • To provide high-quality practical training to learners, ensuring they meet the required DVSA test standards for safe and efficient operation of vehicles.
  • To carry out driver assessments in line with DVSA standardised processes, to evaluate skills and identify areas of development
  • Provide objective and fair assessments of driving competence
  • To deliver classroom courses, including Driver CPC and in-house courses as required.
  • To support learners with theory preparation.
  • To travel to corporate clients to carry out driver risk assessments in line with their requirements.
  • To ensure all training is carried out complies with relevant legislation and industry standards
  • Stay updated on changes in regulations and best practices
  • Maintain accurate records of training progress and assessments

Essential Skills and requirements

  • Experience in vocational driver trainer HGV and PCV
  • Proficient in driver checks and reporting procedures
  • Strong teaching and coaching skills
  • Strong knowledge of traffic laws, road signs and driving regulations (The Highway Code)
  • Flexible who works hours including early starts and late finishes

Hours Expected

40 hours Monday to Friday

Overtime available when required
