Our Client are a well-established and respected family run business based in Penistone, South Yorkshire. They provide driver training for HGV and PCV vehicles including driver CPC courses for qualified drivers. They also carry out driver risk assessments and training to corporate clients.
Description
To provide high-quality practical training to learners, ensuring they meet the required DVSA test standards for safe and efficient operation of vehicles.
To provide constructive feedback and coaching to learners on their driving performance.
To carry out driver assessments in line with DVSA standardised processes, to evaluate skills and identify areas of development
Provide objective and fair assessments of driving competence
To deliver classroom courses, including Driver CPC and in house courses as required.
To support learners with theory preparation.
To travel to corporate clients to carry out driver risk assessments in line with their requirements.
To contribute to the development of vocational driver training sessions tailored to specific vehicle types and industry needs.
To ensure all training carried out complies with relevant legislation and industry standards
Stay updated on changes in regulations and best practices
Promote safe driving practices and a strong safety culture
Maintain accurate records of training progress and assessments
Communicate effectively with learners, office staff and management
Profile
A successful Vocational Driver Trainer should have:
Experience in vocational driver trainer - HGV and PCV
Proficient in driver checks and reporting procedures
Strong teaching and coaching skills
Strong communication skills at all levels
Excellent organisational skills
Ability to work as a team as well as using your own initiative
Patience and the ability to remain calm under pressure
Strong knowledge of traffic laws, road signs and driving regulations (The Highway Code)
Ability to assess and evaluate driving skills accurately.
Proficiency in using training materials and resources.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs.
Effective Presentation Skills
Flexible who work hours including early starts and late finishes
