Electrical Engineer (HV/MV 11-33kV)

DCS Engineering are partnered with a key player in the UK's industrial and medical gas supply sector who also manage one of the largest private electrical networks in the country. From motors powerful enough to energize small towns to an extensive HV infrastructure, they offer unique exposure to large-scale systems rarely found outside of the utility space. This role offers the opportunity to work with others who are passionate about delivering innovative solutions in a dynamic and evolving industry!

What we're looking for

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent relevant experience).
  • Around 5 years of engineering experience, ideally with high-voltage systems in a process industry environment.
  • Knowledge of power distribution, large synchronous motors, HV switchgear, transformers, and cable systems.
  • Chartered status with the IET (or actively working towards it-we value all equivalent paths to expertise).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to support cross-functional teams.
  • A proactive approach to safety and a commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful work culture.
  • Comfortable working with voltages from 11kV to 33kV.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within the UK and Ireland as needed.

  • Offer expert guidance on power distribution systems, rotating machinery, and HV infrastructure.
  • Help shape strategic engineering direction and ensure alignment with broader business goals.
  • Oversee asset life cycle processes, including repairs and upgrades, using the EMOC process.
  • Collaborate with technicians to share knowledge, solve challenges, and champion best practices.
  • Lead engineering input on multi-disciplinary projects, ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Take responsibility for internal electrical standards and offer trusted technical advice.

What can you expect in return?

Salary: £50,000 to £70,000, depending on experience.
