We are seeking an Executive Personal Assistant to support the Director of People and Organisational Culture for a 6-month temporary position at Sheffield Council. This role is crucial for managing sensitive information and supporting complex case management within the organisation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate high levels of sensitivity, professionalism, and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:- Provide a proactive and confidential personal assistant service to the Executive Management Team.
- Manage and lead a team of Personal Assistants supporting Directors and senior managers.
- Deputise for the Personal Assistant to the Chief Executive as needed.
- Ensure high standards of personal assistant support are maintained across the Executive Management Team.
- Lead the performance management, development, and coaching of Personal Assistants and other staff within the Business Support function.
- Delegate tasks appropriately to ensure efficient management support.
- Enhance self-sufficiency among managers through effective support.
- Contribute to continuous improvement within the Business Support function and support the organisation's drive to achieve excellence.
- Assist in the development and implementation of strategies and plans to improve PA service standards.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and council policies, promoting best practices within the team.
- Support the delivery of the organisation's vision, aims, and objectives through effective resource management.
- Proven experience as a Personal Assistant or similar role, preferably within a public sector or large organisational setting.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing a team.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.
- Competency in performance management, coaching, and development of staff.
- Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in handling electronic and paper communications.
- Experience in supporting the implementation of business strategies and compliance policies.
