Sewell Wallis are currently working with a well-established business based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire who are looking for an Accounts Supervisor on a temporary basis for around 6 months. They are a long-standing client who we have successfully placed with in the past and seen great success from those individuals within the business. We are therefore really pleased to be working with them as they look for some interim support.
The Accounts Supervisor position will include the overseeing of both Accounts Payable and Receivable functions so knowledge of both these areas as well as experience at a Senior or Supervisor level is required. The right candidate will also need to be immediately available for a temporary assignment.
What will you be doing?
- Supervising the transactional team on a daily basis, including both the accounts payable and receivable functions.
- Ensuring all ledger entries are accurately recorded and reconciled.
- Monitoring journal entries, reconciliations, and account adjustments.
- Maintaining the general ledger and ensuring timely month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Monitoring aged debtors and creditors reports and ensuring timely follow-ups or payments.
- Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and audit schedules.
- Ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
- Providing training, guidance, and performance feedback to ledger team members.
- Liaising with internal departments and external stakeholders to resolve ledger discrepancies.
What skills do you need?
- Experience as an Accounts Supervisor or in a similar Team Leader or Senior position.
- Understanding of both Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger functions.
- Technically proficient including in Excel (VLookUps, Pivot Tables etc)
- Availibility on short notice
