This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the largest and most respected accountancy firms in Sheffield, known for its strong regional presence, long-standing client relationships, and commitment to professional excellence. With continued growth in their Private Client offering, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Private Client Tax Manager to their team.

Based in Sheffield, this role offers the chance to work in a firm that places real value on career development, work-life balance, and delivering high-quality, personalised tax advice.

As a Private Client Tax Manager, you will manage a diverse portfolio of private clients, including HNWIs, business owners, landed estates, trusts, and families with complex financial affairs. You'll lead both compliance and tailored advisory services, helping clients plan effectively while ensuring HMRC compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of private clients, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of self-assessment tax returns, trust returns, and IHT/CGT reporting

  • Provide personalised advice on inheritance tax, capital gains tax, trust structuring, residency & domicile issues, and wealth succession planning

  • Collaborate with partners and directors on planning opportunities and wider client strategy

  • Review and supervise the work of junior staff, providing mentorship and technical guidance

  • Stay current with tax legislation and uphold high standards of technical excellence

  • Play an active role in business development, representing the firm's Private Client capabilities across Sheffield

What We're Looking For:

  • CTA-qualified (or ACA/ACCA with strong personal tax background)

  • At least 5 years of experience in private client tax within a UK accountancy practice

  • Experience with HNWIs, trusts, estates, and complex personal tax issues

  • Strong communication skills with a passion for building long-term client relationships

  • Leadership ability and a desire to grow both technically and commercially
