This is a brilliant opportunity to join my client, a trusted, sustainably-minded Multidisciplinary Consultancy known for lending their expertise to projects across the engineering and environmental landscapes. They are currently searching for a keen, capable Senior Hydraulic Modeller who is willing to take on an array of projects across a variety of sectors, based near the cultural, picturesque city of Sheffield.

Responsibilities for the role of Senior Hydraulic Modeller include:

  • Supervising a high-performing team of professionals
  • Producing hydraulic models and surveys
  • Checking colleagues' technical work
  • Analysing and interpreting data using a variety of software systems, preparing/checking/publishing technical documents
  • Supervising preparation of plans utilising MapInfo
  • Building and maintaining professional relationships with clients and other stakeholders across the public and private sectors
  • Acting as a trusted company representative at site visits and meetings
  • Managing projects and people
  • Adhering to industry standards, regulations, and the appropriate health and safety measures at all times

Required skills and experience for the role of Senior Hydraulic Modeller include:

  • A Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Hydrology or Civil Engineering (or a similar, relevant discipline)
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a design-based role, within a UK-based consultancy (or Local Authority)
  • Experience of wastewater modelling
  • Proficient in the use of InfoWorks ICM (1D and 2D), and other relevant software packages
  • Experience of liaising closely with a variety of clients and stakeholders
  • Full, valid UK driving licence

Desirable skills and experience for the role of Senior Hydraulic Modeller include:

  • Possess Chartered Status, or actively working to attain this
  • Good knowledge of the local area and surrounding region
  • Working knowledge of a range of other software systems used within the flood risk, drainage, and hydrology sectors
