We’re looking for six skilled Project Delivery Engineers to join our Major Projects Team at Northern Powergrid. If you're a Senior Authorised Person (SAP) with experience across 11kV to 132kV, this is your opportunity to make a real impact delivering high-profile capital reinforcement and new connection projects.

You’ll be leading technical construction projects across the HV and EHV networks, including new connections for demand and generation customers.

We are currently recruiting for this vacancy across Yorkshire, and you may be based at locations including York, Sheffield, Castleford, Brigg and Hull. However, we are always on the hunt for new talent and welcome a chat if you have an interest in joining Northern Powergrid. Relocation to be discussed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and deliver a range of technical construction projects to time, cost and quality standards
  • Operate as a SAP on the distribution network up to 132kV
  • Lead the safe delivery of capital reinforcement and new connection projects
  • Handle all aspects of outage and emergency planning
  • Supervise site activity and ensure effective contractor performance
  • Set staff to work under safe systems and lead safety management onsite
  • Support outage and emergency return-to-service planning

The Person

We’re keen to hear from applicants who:

  • Are SAP-qualified up to 132kV on UK-based distribution or transmission networks
  • Have an HNC/HND/Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
  • Understand CDM regulations and UK electrical safety standards
  • Have excellent project management and stakeholder communication skills
  • Are team-focused, customer-oriented, and driven to deliver quality.

Holding a NEBOSH/IOSH qualification is a plus.
