A valid driving license and willingness to travel to client sites, including overseas, are essential, with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering preferred.

Elevation are working on behalf of a Sheffield based manufacturer to recruit an on site / off site Mechanical Fitter

Role: Offsite Mechanical Fitter

Hourly Rate: £17.55 plus enhanced rates for offsite work Location: Sheffield Based with UK and Overseas travel Shift Pattern: Monday – Thursday 06:30 – 16:15

Responsibilities:

Assemble, install, and maintain mechanical systems and equipment offsite
Carry out routine maintenance, fault finding, and repairs
Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
Use a range of hand and power tools to build and repair mechanical components
Conduct inspections and suggest corrective actions
Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations when working offsite
Liaise with engineers, technicians, and site teams
Maintain detailed records of all work carried out
Contribute to ongoing improvements in processes and quality

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or similar
Strong mechanical knowledge, including fitting and assembly
Ability to confidently read and work from technical drawings
Skilled in the use of hand and power tools
Great attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering preferred
3-5 years’ experience in a similar mechanical fitting role
Ability to travel overseas without restriction
