Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Engineer to join our clients team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background as a Maintenance Engineer with a sound knowledge of both Electrical and Mechanical systems. They will have the ability to troubleshoot and maintain various equipment. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of our clients manufacturing equipment and overall site facilities and is essential in contributing to overall productivity and efficiency.

The job

  • Develop, implement and co-ordinate preventive maintenance schedules for equipment and facilities.
  • Reactive repairs and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to ensure resolution in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with the highest safety standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Maintain inventory
  • Develop Engineering Management databases to ensure secure historical data including work requests, completed work lists, preventative maintenance plans, budgetary control, plant availability & component failure rates.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in other departments to support operational goals.
  • Effectively manage maintenance budget and prepare reports for management review.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment efficiency and minimise downtime.
  • Oversee facilities maintenance across the site including systems such as heating, plumbing and lighting.
  • Effectively organise and conduct (as required) general repairs/oversee routine property plant maintenance
  • Facilitate / support Lean Manufacturing and operational Excellence implementation
  • Key holder with emergency callout availability

You

  • Be educated to ONC/HNC standard in electrical and mechanical engineering.
  • Have proven experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • 18th Edition regs.
  • Team worker with strong communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a logical approach to troubleshooting issues.
  • Lean Six Sigma qualified
