Operations Manager

Inspire Resourcing are currently recruiting an Operations Manager on behalf of our client in Sheffield. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a market leading manufacturer, with exciting projects & a great team.

Duties:

  • Leading the Production, Quality/Health/Safety/Environmental and Purchasing teams
  • Production Planning and Scheduling: Develop and implement production plans to meet customer demand while optimising resource utilisation and minimising costs
  • Resource Management: Manage and allocate resources, including raw materials, equipment, personnel, and capital, to ensure efficient production
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve quality
  • Quality Control: Ensure products meet quality standards through implementation and monitoring of quality control procedures.
  • Safety Management: Implement and enforce safety regulations and procedures to create a safe working environment
  • Personnel Management: Recruit, train, and supervise production personnel, ensuring they are well-equipped to perform their roles
  • Cost Management: Monitor and control production costs, identifying areas for cost reduction and optimisation
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels to minimise costs and ensure timely availability of materials
  • Supplier Management: Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials
  • Performance Reporting: Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of operations
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, operations management or a related field. Alternatively, sufficient experience in a similar role
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and principles
  • Experience in production planning, scheduling, and resource management
  • Experience of implementing lean manufacturing principles and a culture of continuous improvement
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to analyse data and identify areas for improvement
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Familiarity with manufacturing software and systems (ERP / MRP)

Salary, Circa 55k DOE
