About the Role

As the Automation & Control Engineer, you'll be the go-to expert for all things related to industrial control systems (ICS). From PLC programming to SCADA development, you'll ensure our automated systems run smoothly, efficiently, and safely. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where your technical insight will directly influence production uptime and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead programming, troubleshooting, and optimization of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and electrical control systems.
  • Act as the site authority on ICS, supporting both day-to-day operations and long-term strategy.
  • Manage vendor relationships and service contracts for ICS support.
  • Maintain and develop control system documentation and backups.
  • Drive obsolescence planning and system upgrades in collaboration with reliability engineering.
  • Specify and procure control system components and oversee installations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and capital projects.
  • Maintain and update electrical schematics and system configurations.

What We're Looking For

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience (5+ years preferred).
  • Strong background in PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and SCADA systems (Ignition, InTouch).
  • Proficient in industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, Profibus).
  • Skilled in reading electrical schematics and P&IDs.
  • Experience in commissioning and supporting automated systems.
  • Knowledge of ATEX/DSEAR, Lean, Six Sigma, or Process Safety is a plus.
