Sheffield

Hybrid working available | Flexible start and finish times | 25 days holiday plus bank holidays | Pension scheme

This is hands-on mechanical design work on equipment with real scale and real demands placed on it. You’ll be designing special purpose machinery and large moving structures used in sectors such as nuclear, aerospace and defence, where reliability and engineering integrity are critical.

  • Preparing supporting documentation including risk assessments and compliance files

What you’ll bring

  • Mechanical design experience in handling equipment or large assemblies
  • Confident CAD ability (SolidWorks or similar), with good understanding of tolerancing and manufacturability
  • Appreciation of load paths and mechanical integrity
  • A practical mindset and the ability to prioritise effectively across multiple projects
  • Clear communication and a collaborative approach
  • Exposure to FEA or fatigue assessment

Useful but not essential

  • Background in nuclear, defence, aerospace or other regulated sectors
