Job Description:
As a CAD Designer at , you will play a critical role in transforming ideas into
tangible products. You will be responsible for creating precise and detailed technical drawings
and 3D models for a variety of fabrication projects, including but not limited to steel, aluminium
and GRP structures and custom-designed parts. Your work will directly influence the quality and
accuracy of our production process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Design: Create accurate and detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models for fabrication projects, ensuring all specifications are met.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams to understand project requirements and constraints.
- Quality Assurance: Review and refine designs to ensure they meet industry standards, project specifications, and quality control measures.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of designs, revisions, and project documentation to ensure traceability and compliance.
- Material Selection: Assist in selecting appropriate materials and fabrication methods, based on project needs.
- Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve design-related issues that may arise during the
fabrication process.
- Process Improvement: Continuously seek ways to improve design processes and enhance efficiency.
- Software Proficiency: Utilise advanced CAD software (AutoCAD and Inventor) to produce designs and stay updated on industry trends and software advancements.
Qualifications:
- Education: A degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Drafting, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in CAD design, preferably in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Autodesk Inventor
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Product Design
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering
- Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to design work, ensuring every detail is correct and meets the highest standards.
- Knowledge of Fabrication Processes: Strong understanding of metal fabrication processes, including welding, cutting, bending, and machining.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify design issues and propose effective solutions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and contribute to team success.
- Time Management: Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
