Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the end-to-end procurement strategy for a major bus franchising programme.
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans aligned with public sector governance and commercial objectives.
- Engage with legal, technical, and operational teams to ensure procurement activity supports wider programme goals.
- Manage complex stakeholder environments, including political, commercial, and community interests.
- Oversee procurement processes for multi-million-pound contracts, ensuring compliance, value for money, and innovation
Profile
A successful Interim Strategic Procurement Manager should have:
- Proven experience creating procurement strategies from scratch in complex, regulated environments.
- Strong background in public sector procurement, ideally within transport, infrastructure, rail, bus, FM or construction.
- Experience managing high-value procurements (multi-million) with strategic impact.
- Ability to navigate political and public sector landscapes with confidence and discretion.
- MCIPS or equivalent qualification preferred.
