About the Company

Our client is a highly respected precision engineering company based in Sheffield, known for manufacturing complex components for sectors including aerospaceautomotive, and energy. They pride themselves on innovation, tight tolerances, and world-class quality standards. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced NDT Level 2 Technician to join their inspection team.

The Role

This is a hands-on position requiring practical NDT experience. The successful candidate will perform inspections using multiple NDT methods to ensure the highest quality standards are met. Working in a fast-paced precision engineering environment, you'll play a key role in maintaining product integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out NDT inspections using one or more of the following methods:

-          Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MPI), Dye Penetrant Inspection (DPI), Radiographic Testing (RT).

  • Evaluate and interpret results according to applicable standards and customer specifications.
  • Generate inspection reports and maintain accurate records.
  • Work closely with the quality and production teams to support right-first-time manufacturing.
  • Ensure inspection tools and equipment are properly calibrated and maintained.
  • Assist in writing or updating in-house NDT procedures.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and quality initiatives.

Candidate Requirements

  • PCN or ASNT Level 2 certification
  • Experience within NDT role within a precision or high-integrity engineering environment.
  • Sound knowledge of international standards (ASME, ISO, ASTM, etc.).
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Good communication skills and team-oriented attitude.

Desirable

  • Experience with aerospace, defence, or energy sector components.
  • Familiarity with NADCAP or AS9100 environments.
