Position Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location Sheffield

Salary 60,000 - 70,000 + package

Randstad are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a large sub contractor within the social housing industry. This pivotal role will be instrumental in ensuring the financial success and contractual integrity of their operations.



Key Responsibilities

As Commercial Manager, your core responsibilities will include:

  • Contractual Entitlement Maximisation: Ensuring they secure its full financial entitlement within the contract.
  • Company Advocacy: Promoting and upholding company values and procedures both internally and externally.
  • Budgetary Oversight: Ensuring project teams meet or exceed established budget targets.
  • Contractual Expertise: Acting as the subject matter expert on all contractual arrangements.
  • Cash Flow Optimisation: Maximising cash flow through efficient invoicing processes and timely resolution of client queries.
  • Financial Monitoring: Diligently monitoring job costs and revenue to inform data-driven strategic decisions.
  • Dispute Management: Proactively managing disputes and identifying potential issues at an early stage.
  • Accurate Forecasting: Ensuring the accuracy of cash flow forecasts and revenue profiles.
  • Financial Governance: Supporting robust financial reporting and cost control governance frameworks.
  • Operational Management: Overseeing subcontractor orders, managing the supplier onboarding process, and contributing to team development initiatives.


Skills & Qualifications

  • Commercial Experience: Demonstrable previous experience in a similar commercial management role.
  • IT Proficiency: Excellent IT skills, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including V-Lookup, PivotTables, and formula development.
  • Negotiation & Communication: Strong negotiation and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Contractual Knowledge: Detailed knowledge of relevant contract conditions.
  • Management Accounts: Proven experience with management accounts.
  • Mobility: A full UK driving license and the willingness to travel as required by business needs.


Desirable Criteria

  • Industry Qualification: An industry-related qualification.
  • Contract Law Knowledge: A solid understanding of Contract Law.
  • Professional Qualifications: Professional Accountancy Qualifications, or actively working towards a Facilities Management, Accountancy, or Construction-related qualification.
  • Complex Contract Experience: Demonstrable experience in managing significant and complex multi-disciplinary contracts.
  • Dispute Resolution: Proven experience in dispute resolution
