Controls Engineer – South Yorkshire - £48-65k + overtime + private healthcare + flexi-time system

Samuel Frank is recruiting an experienced Controls Engineer to join a rapidly expanding system integrator based in the South Yorkshire area.

Control Engineers with writing code from scratch for a system integrator will be well suited to this opportunity.

Controls Engineers applying for the role are likely to have experience in some of the following packages/areas

  • Proven experience in developing PLC software for range of major manufacturers e.g. Rockwell, GE or Siemens
  • SCADA experience across a range of manufacturers e.g. Wonderware, Siemens, Rockwell, GE
  • Functional Safety systems in accordance with IEC 61508 / 61511
  • Good knowledge of communication protocols
  • Strong faultfinding on hardware and software
  • Ability to write high quality Test & Functional Design Specifications
  • The Controls Manager estimates the role of Senior Controls Engineer will have an 80/20 split between working in the office and being based on customer sites
  • If you have experience of functional safety and developing systems in accordance with IEC 61508 / 61511, working with Information Management Systems and working offshore, then that would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Offshore work is not an essential part of the role.
