Reed Business Support are delighted to be supporting a fantastic construction merchants, in their search for a Sales Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. This is a varied and hands-on role, combining customer service at the trade counter with operational support in the warehouse. The successful candidate will be an integral part of our team, helping to maintain our high standards of service and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver excellent customer service at the sales counter, ensuring a friendly and professional experience
- Prepare and process customer quotations and orders accurately
- Assist with receiving, checking, and processing deliveries in the warehouse
- Keep the sales area clean, tidy, and well-stocked
- Support stock control and inventory management
- Use computer systems for sales processing, stock enquiries, and order tracking
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet sales and service targets
- Take part in Saturday morning shifts on a rota basis (paid overtime)
- Previous work experience in a customer-facing or sales role is essential
- Experience in a similar trade or industry is desirable but not essential
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer literacy and a willingness to learn new systems
- A proactive, dependable, and flexible approach to work
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
- Physically capable of undertaking manual handling tasks in the warehouse
