Finance Assistant Sheffield, South Yorkshire Elevation Accountancy & Finance are working on an exciting new opportunity for candidates looking to build a strong foundation in finance and gain hands-on experience across a broad range of responsibilities. We’re offering a rare opportunity to work closely with an experienced Finance Director who is passionate about developing talent and sharing knowledge.You'll get exposure to everything from day-to-day transactions to high-level financial planning and projects.No aspect of the Finance department is “off the table” – if you can prove you're capable enough, you’ll get exposure to all aspects of management accounts, forecasting, preparation of board packs, and everything in-between. What kind of person are we looking for?

  • A sharp eye for detail and a head for numbers
  • Comfortable navigating spreadsheets and software systems
  • Proactive, eager to learn, and ready to roll up your sleeves and help out wherever needed
  • You may not have loads of experience yet – and that’s okay! What matters most is your attitude, willingness to learn, and drive to develop your skills

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Admin & Credit Control

  • Assisting with customer onboarding processes (including filling out supplier forms/questionnaires)
  • Creating and sending customer invoices accurately and on time
  • Following up on outstanding payments in a friendly but effective way

Purchase Ledger

  • Entering supplier invoices into the system with accuracy and speed
  • Helping to prepare supplier payments
  • Daily bank reconciliations

Management Accounts & Business Support

  • Gradually becoming involved in preparing journals, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and producing management reports
  • Assisting with forecasting and budgeting activities
  • Working alongside other departments to help finance play a key role in business growth

Projects

  • Getting involved in exciting upcoming projects, including the rollout of a new ERP system (planned within the next 12 months), which will be a collaborative effort between finance and operations
