Location: Sheffield, UK (with regular trips to Liverpool, Manchester, and Birmingham) Contract Length: Approx. 6-12 months

Theyre looking for a Social Media & Community Manager to cover maternity leave someone dynamic, creative, and people-oriented to carry the torch and continue growing our brand and resident engagement across Sheffield, Liverpool, Manchester, and Birmingham.

Your Role

This is a hybrid role combining social media content creation and community engagement. Youll be the face and voice of The James online and on the ground, creating unforgettable content and experiences for our residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Social Media Management & Content Creation
  • Manage and produce engaging content across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube
  • Create videos, reels, graphics, and written content that highlight our properties, residents, and events
  • Write compelling copy tailored to a Millennial and Gen-Z audience
  • Collaborate with freelance creatives (videographers, editors, photographers) to produce high quality content
  • Stay current with social media trends and adjust strategy accordingly
  • Monitor and respond to messages and comments across channels
  • Create engaging internal content for our Resident App
  • Produce and present podcast episodes with residents and other guests


Community Management & Event Coordination

  • Plan and run a diverse range of events from hikes and yoga sessions to parties and socials Work closely with residents, on site management teams, and external vendors to deliver successful events
  • Get to know our residents and cultivate tight-knit, vibrant communities
  • Ensure all community activities reflect The James identity and values


Who You Are

Theyre looking for someone who:

  • Is highly proactive, organised, and bursting with creative ideas
  • Has a confident, on-camera presence youre comfortable being the face of our brand
  • Loves people and thrives in social, energetic environments
  • Is skilled in video shooting, editing, and graphic design (e.g. Adobe Suite, Canva, CapCut, etc.)
    Has experience growing social media channels (not necessarily in property)
  • Has a background in social media, event coordination, community management or marketing
  • Can juggle multiple projects and still deliver high-quality results


Travel

  • Youll be based in Sheffield
  • Regular travel to Liverpool and Manchester, with future travel to Birmingham
  • All travel expenses covered by The James

This is a Maternity Cover Role

This is a fixed-term contract role to cover maternity leave, expected to last approximately 612 months, with the potential for future opportunities within The James Group.
