Day-to-Day of the Role

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide individualised support to pupils with diverse needs such as ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to implement effective individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Engage pupils in stimulating activities that promote learning and social interaction.
  • Monitor and adapt strategies to foster pupil progress, maintaining close communication with the educational team.
  • Work in partnership with parents and professionals to maximise educational outcomes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in a similar role or a role with transferable skills, demonstrating a confident and proactive approach to SEN education.
  • A current DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with students, staff, and parents.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
