About the Role

Career Teachers are seeking an experienced SEN Teacher to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Sheffield. You will work within the school's Hub, supporting up to 10 pupils with a range of special educational needs, including Autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties (many pupils are non-verbal). This is a full-time position starting in January 2026 and continuing until the end of the academic year.



Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver tailored lessons to meet the individual needs of pupils with varied SEN profiles.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Use a range of strategies to support pupils with Autism, ADHD, and communication challenges.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and school staff.
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting plans as needed.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.


Skills & Experience Required

  • Essential: Previous experience teaching in an SEN school or specialist provision.
  • Strong understanding of Autism, ADHD, and non-verbal communication strategies.
  • Ability to differentiate lessons and use creative approaches to engage learners.
  • Excellent classroom management and behaviour support skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
