We are urgently seeking experienced Band 6 Registered Mental Health Nurses (RMNs) or Social Workers to join the Liaison Psychiatry team in Sheffield on a 4-month agency contract.

This role will primarily involve night shift cover, providing specialist mental health assessments and interventions within a hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for patients referred to the Liaison Psychiatry service.
  • Provide rapid risk assessments and formulate management plans for individuals presenting with acute mental health needs.
  • Offer short-term therapeutic interventions and signposting to appropriate services.
  • Work collaboratively with A&E, medical wards, and crisis teams to ensure coordinated care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and clinical records in line with NHS standards.
  • Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed and escalate concerns as necessary.
  • Contribute to handover and multidisciplinary team discussions during night shifts.
Key Requirements:
  • Immediate availability to start
  • Experience in Liaison Psychiatry essential
  • Flexibility to work night shifts (Mon-Sun)
  • Current NMC/HCPC registration
