A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Group Tax Assistant to join a leading multi-channel business with a strong national footprint and ambitious growth plans. Based at their office in Sheffield, this role sits within the Group Finance Team and offers a broad remit across UK and international tax compliance, reporting, and strategic projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Act as the go-to technical expert for tax matters across the group
  • Prepare and submit UK Corporate Tax and VAT returns
  • Support Irish and EU VAT and corporate submissions
  • Monitor legislative changes and recommend efficient tax structures
  • Lead on tax risk identification and mitigation strategies
  • Ensure compliance with VAT rules
  • Contribute to strategic projects including M&A, restructuring, and financing
  • Oversee SAO processes and support best practice development
Experience required:
  • Part Qualified or Qualified accountant or tax professional (ACA, CTA, ATT)
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK and EU tax legislation
  • Experience managing tax compliance and risk in a complex business
  • Excellent Excel and communication skills
  • Ability to explain complex tax issues clearly to non-specialists
  • A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with strong project management skills
