Housing Projects and Supported Accommodation OfficerLocation: Central BedfordshireType: Temporary ContractSalary: £20 Umbrella

Central Bedfordshire Council is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Housing Projects and Supported Accommodation Officer to support the delivery of high-quality, affordable accommodation for those aged 55 and above, as well as for vulnerable individuals aged 18+.

This is a unique, dual-purpose role requiring you to:

?? Promote and Facilitate New Housing Schemes:

  • Champion purpose-built housing developments for older residents

  • Act as first point of contact for interested tenants

  • Offer advice on affordability and income maximisation

  • Enable viewings, expedite applications, and assist with move-ins

  • Record tenant feedback to inform future planning

?? Support Residents in Supported Housing Schemes:

  • Assist customers with resettlement and community reintegration

  • Manage sensitive lets with care and professionalism

  • Cover absences in teams supporting those affected by domestic abuse or homelessness

  • Ensure safeguarding protocols are followed

We are looking for someone with:

  • Housing management experience
  • Empathy, professionalism, and excellent communication skills
  • The ability to navigate complex cases and make sound referrals
  • Experience advising on affordability and maximising income (desirable)
  • A thorough understanding of safeguarding and support procedures
