Gleeson Recruitment Group are working in partnership with an international PE backed distribution business, who are looking to recruit a Financial Reporting Accountant in a newly-created role. As the International Financial Reporting Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and compliant financial reporting across our international operations.
Your responsibilities will include:
Global Financial Reporting:
- Lead the preparation and analysis of consolidated financial statements in accordance with international accounting standards (IFRS).
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and reporting deadlines.
- Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions, collaborating with regional finance teams to resolve discrepancies.
- Implement and maintain standardised processes for intercompany accounting.
Currency Exchange Management:
- Monitor and analyse foreign currency transactions and their impact on financial statements.
- Provide insights into currency exchange fluctuations and their potential impact on financial performance.
- Facilitate the annual audit process, working closely with external auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit.
- Address audit findings and implement corrective actions as needed.
Advisory and Compliance:
- Stay informed about changes in international accounting standards and provide guidance on their implementation.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with local statutory requirements in various jurisdictions.
Qualifications and experience required for the Financial Reporting Accountant role:
- Recognised accountancy qualification - ACA or ACCA - is required
- Proven experience in international financial reporting, ideally with exposure to a multinational organisation.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and other relevant accounting standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills in a multicultural environment.
- Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
