Progress Teachers are a leading education staffing agency dedicated to providing long-term and permanent employment across the East and West Midlands.

We are looking for a fun and friendly KS3 SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic provision in Lougborough. You will be supporting a group of up to 8 students (aged 11-14) with Complex Social, Emotional & Mental Heath needs, alongside complex Trauma and various learning difficulties.

This is a full-time role. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 - 15:30.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to pupils' with SEMH & SEND, helping them to engage in learning activities and develop their skills.
  • Work closely with teachers and other staff to implement IEPs (Individualised Education Plans) and assist in adapting lessons to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Maintain a positive learning environment, manage behaviour and promote social skills.
  • Observe and assess student performance, document progress and provide feedback to the team to inform future planning and support.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children, particularly those with autism, ADHD, Non-Verbal, Global Development Delay is ideal
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children and collaborate with teaching staff.
  • A proactive attitude towards fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Relevant qualifications in childcare or education would be beneficial but are not mandatory.
