If this sounds like something you want to be a part of, we are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant General Manager who is going to continue to bring us more oxygen. Your role will be key to ensuring a smooth daily operation of the pub, delivering excellent customer service, and fostering a warm, friendly atmosphere for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership:Assist in the day-to-day running of the pub, ensuring high standards of service, cleanliness, and compliance with licensing laws.
  • Team Management:Supervise and motivate staff, providing training and support to enhance performance.
  • Customer Experience:Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all guests, ensuring top-quality service and resolving customer concerns effectively.
  • Cellar Management:Ensure the cellar is well maintained, beer lines are kept clean (in accordance with the Brewers Association) and that hygiene standards are compliant.
  • Stock & Inventory:Assist in managing stock levels, placing orders, and reducing waste to maximise profitability.
  • Financial Support:Help manage budgets, control costs, and oversee cash handling procedures.
  • Events & Promotions:Support planning and execution of events, live music nights, quiz nights, and community-driven activities.
  • Health & Safety Compliance:Ensure all health, safety, and food hygiene standards are upheld.

What Were Looking For

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a pub, bar, or hospitality setting.
  • A passion for great customer service and building relationships within the community.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Experience with stock control, cash handling, and cost management.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Personal License preferable.
