Tara Professional Recruitment are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our partner schools full time from September. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and helping them thrive in their learning and personal development. The role is long term with no set end date but could become permanent for the right candidate.

The School:

  • The school offer a supportive, small-group setting where every student is challenged to achieve their best, equipping them with the skills they need for adult life.  The curriculum combines high-quality teaching with strong emotional support, ensuring each learner feels valued, understood, and encouraged to succeed.

The Role:

  • Working closely with pupils who have a range of special educational needs, including SEMH and ASD

  • Supporting the class teacher with the delivery of tailored learning activities

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support to help students reach their full potential

  • Assisting with behaviour management strategies and promoting positive outcomes

  • Creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school-based or alternative settings)

  • A patient, resilient and empathetic approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
