About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and inspiring RE Teacher to join the Humanities Department at the School in Shipley, starting this May. This part-time position (2 days per week - Tuesdays and Thursdays) is ideal for someone passionate about teaching Religious Education to Key Stage 3 and 4 students. You'll be expected to deliver engaging, inclusive and well-structured lessons that stimulate ethical thinking, philosophical discussion, and a deep understanding of world religions.

Contract: Part-time role (Tuesday and Thursday)

Pay rate: £150 - £251.71 (UPS Rates will be considered)

Essential Requirements

  • QTS or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Understanding of national curriculum and assessment frameworks
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)

Responsibilities

  • Deliver RE lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Create lesson plans that challenge and engage students
  • Promote open discussion, critical thinking, and respect for different beliefs
  • Set, mark and assess classwork and homework
  • Track and report on student progress
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment
  • Liaise with the Humanities team on cross-curricular planning
  • Contribute to departmental meetings and initiatives
  • Prepare students for RE assessments and exams
  • Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and report concerns appropriately
