Job Title: Live-In Housekeeper / Cook - Permanent
Job Summary:
The live-in housekeeper will be responsible for preparing, serving of meals, driving and escorting the family to appointments and community activities is also a key element for this role, handling errands to ensure the smooth operation and needs of the household, collaborating with the team to maintain the cleanliness and organisation for the family. This role involves a variety of tasks including practical tasks such as cleaning and laundry. Â A clean driving licence and or access to a vehicle is required. The housekeeper will reside at premises at the employer's home.Â
Key Responsibilities:
- Cooking and Meal Preparation:
- Preparing meals according to dietary requirements and preferences.
- Grocery shopping and maintaining an inventory of household supplies.
- Cleaning up after meals and ensuring the kitchen is tidy.
- Errands and Household Management:
- Running errands such as grocery shopping, picking up dry cleaning, and other household needs.
- Managing household supplies and ensuring items are restocked.
- Collection of medications
- The role requires driving to access the community, appointments and other planned activities
- Cleaning and Maintenance:
- Daily cleaning of rooms, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitising surfaces.
- Deep cleaning tasks such as cleaning windows, carpets, and upholstery.
- Maintaining cleanliness of bathrooms and kitchens, including appliances.
- Organising and tidying up living spaces.
- Laundry and Linen Care:
- Washing, drying, ironing, and folding clothes and linens.
- Changing bed linens and making beds.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to cook and prepare meals with Hygiene and food preparation certificates preferred
- Previous experience as a housekeeper or in a similar role, a background in hospitality
- Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
- Full clean drivers licence - access to a car, or willing to use the family vehicle
- Strong attention to detail and a high standard of cleanliness.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions, supporting family members and guests when required
- Trustworthy and reliable, with a respectful attitude towards privacy.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays if needed.
Living Arrangements:
- Private living quarters provided within the employer's home.
- Utilities included and meals while on duty
Hours of work
- Full time – 37.5 hours.
- Weekends are essential for meal preparation for the family, with 3 days during the week that include evenings supporting the team and 2 days off during the week
