As a Technical Author, you will be acting as the expert within a specific technical domain, providing leadership and guidance by setting standards, reviewing designs, ensuring compliance with regulations, and making critical technical decisions to guarantee the quality and safety of projects, often with the authority to overrule decisions when necessary, while mentoring and coaching other engineers within their field of expertise.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Developing and maintaining technical standards, design guidelines, and procedures to ensure consistency across projects.
  • Reviewing technical designs, calculations, and documentation to verify compliance with standards and project requirements.
  • Making final technical decisions on complex issues, including resolving disagreements between engineers.
  • Identifying potential technical risks and recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Providing technical guidance and training to less experienced engineers within their discipline.
  • Leading technical investigations into incidents or failures to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
  • Working closely with project teams, engineering managers, and other departments to ensure technical alignment and project success.
  • Keeping abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to maintain technical competency.

Skills & Experience:

  • Advanced degree in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering,
  • Extensive experience in the relevant technical field with a proven track record of successful project delivery
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences
  • Leadership qualities to guide and influence technical decisions within a team
